NQ Clarifier air purifier

NQ's Clarifier looks like another serious contender - with four stages of filtration and UV. It uses HEPA filtration, activated carbon and UV light - and NQ states that it can be used in various applications - such as residential, commercial, medical, military or industrial. NQ's HEPA filters come with certification of their "true HEPA" status. There is a special Medical version of the NQ Clarifier available - which increases the UV light by 66%.

NQ also states that due to its HEPA filter, the Clarifier helps to reduce fiberglass dust if such dust has become airborne. However, they also make the noble remark that addressing the problem at source is important. (when we at air-purifiers-online.com see manufacturers making statements that there are additional solutions other than their own product, we believe this is a strong indicator of the company's integrity!)

NQ makes several other products - such as the NQ 250, NQ 400, NQ 500, NQ 1000, and NQ 2000. The NQ 1000 and 2000 feature three stages of filtration, plus UV light for disinfection.

It is interesting to note the similarities between the leading products on the market. Three main types of filtration appear to be at the forefront of these "major player" air purifiers....

1) HEPA filtration (with a pre-filter stage to protect the HEPA filter itself)
2) Some form of activated carbon - often with other chemicals added to address specific gaseous pollutants
3) UV light - to address the problem of bacteria and viruses.

However, NQ does not limit itself to there three. One of the technologies employed by NQ is Ultra Violet Photocatalytic Oxidation (UVPCO). NQ states that they have been using this "cutting edge technology" since 2006 - and that it increases efficacy of NQ products in which it is used, against certain VOCs, odors and chemical pollutants.

Another thing that impressed us about NQ was the fact that they disclosed the results of several scientific tests and clinical trials on their web site.
